1. Open up your console using fine tip poker. Remove the latches and faceplate.
2. Using a Torx 10 screwdriver, unscrew the metal case under the plastic case.
3. Unplug the cables to the DVD drive, and take it out.
4. Take out the fan and motherboard.
5. Using the earlier Streamyx Broadband remove the X-clamps that holds the heatsink. See this
6. Using a screwdriver, remove the heatsink and you would see the CPU and GPU chips now.
7. Clean the heatsink, GPU and CPU.
8. Apply thermal compound preferably Artic Silver 5 over the GPU and CPU. Do not over-apply.
9. Let it dry for 5 minutes.
10. Purchase nylon washers and put 2 on each of the heatsink screws.
11. Put the heatsink back on top of the screws and with a little force, push them down and screw them up real tight. This will be a major help in balancing the heatsink placement on the CPU and GPU.
12. Screw everything back again and turn your Xbox 360 on.
